Message from Peter Braid, MP for Kitchener-Waterloo
I am pleased to inform you that the Government of Canada has launched a new call for proposals under the Community-Based projects component of the New Horizons for Seniors Program.
The deadline for this call for proposals is June 29, 2012.
Community-based projects are available for projects that encourage seniors to share their knowledge, skills and experiences with others and help communities increase their capacity to address local issues. For more information on this call for proposals, please visit: http://www.hrsdc.gc.ca/eng/community_partnerships/seniors/nhsp/cbpf/index.shtml.
Through The New Horizons for Seniors Program, the Government of Canada is taking action by providing funding for community projects that are inspired or led by seniors. These projects enable seniors to do this through volunteerism and mentorship. By investing in these community projects, our government is improving both the quality of life for Canadian seniors and their neighbourhoods.
I encourage you to review the guidelines and consider whether your organization would be eligible to apply for this program. Please do not hesitate to contact my office should you have any questions.
Sincerely,
Peter Braid, MP
Kitchener-Waterloo
